The Montauk Projekt were formed in North London by AJ Cookson and Rik Mantovani, with Rik playing/smashing drums and AJ on guitar and vox duties. They have been described by Organ Magazine, as "Some kind of locked on noise-bastard two piece" who "threaten to be all about confrontation and then pull you in with the melody and the Big Black hooks that lurk underneath".
